Del castle of St. George were currently only the homonymous Romanesque church and its tower, which arise at the south-west of the village of Filattiera. The tower is perhaps the first example of formal towers of Lunigiana, originally from the tenth century and restored in XIV. Its base has a square shape, and was used at the top, with a gateway to four meters high, accessible through a retractable scale. The other floors are turned, and superimposed isolabili. The building was erected to control the underlying Via Francigena. In the past, was also surrounded in its three sides by walls.
